Half century, not out...
Another 2 entries this morning which brings us over the 50 mark for the event which is now just 8 days away. It seems that several entries may be stuck in the postal strike so Martin Clark would like to announce that the finals will be delayed until Monday 5th October. Once again the team would like to thank you all for this fantastic support.
Postal strikes...
With reports yesterday that the local postal depot in Bristol near to Martin Clark is now on strike we would like to make some immediate changes. Just 10 days to go...
21/09/09 - Accomodation - Important Announcement...
Hi All,
As some of you might be aware Haven Homes (Doniford Park) have reneged on their accommodation offer for the Exmoor Rally competitors. We have been negotiating with them (Doniford Park) for the last 2 weeks to re-instate this offer, which they reneged on with no prior notice. Thus we were unable to issue a general hurry up to all competitors to book quickly. We have tried hard but it has proved impossible to get them to change their mind and we feel that they have let us down very badly.
At the current time there are still 8 caravans available which could take a comfortable total of 48 people, the problem being that that they have withdrawn the special prices, the current vans available vary from £209 to £290 for 6 to 8 people. However for 2 nights this is only £25 per person per night. If you already have a caravan booked and are looking for people to share it with please let me know so I can act as a contact point, equally if you want to contact crews to book a caravan with also get in touch with me or Martin (both contactable on the number below or by e mail). Later this week we will have details of all available B&B's in the area and possibly other campsites but suggest that prices are likely to be in the £50-£60 per person range, so although it is hard to give business to an organisation that has let us down, Haven might still be your best bet and I suggest you book quickly before the last caravans are sold out. I’m sure you all appreciate it is far too late in the day for us to change our HQ and the organising team offer our sincere apologies for this issue.
Thanks,
Georgina, Secretary of the Meeting 01454 413231 (until 10pm)
16/09/09 - 3 weeks to go and the Exmoor Enduro is on...
An influx of entries has pushed the entry list to 40 this week with over 3 weeks to go before the Exmoor forests are alive to the sound of endurance rallying. There are still a number of entries promised by well known competitors and the event calls for your support.
"Reaching the 40 mark with 3 weeks still to go is a great result for the organising team, but we would urge anyone else considering the event to come and support us...The event will be running and the team are determined to make this the best of 2009...come on we need YOUR support."

09/09/09 - 4 Weeks and counting...
Only 4 weeks to go until the Exmoor Endurance Rally with 34 confirmed entries received to date. There are 70 confirmed miles of very good forest, plus another 8 miles of the famous Porlock Hill used many years go on the R.A.C rallies. The night road section is confirmed at 65 competitive miles in which we are using 30 marshals.
I’ve searched my memory for the best lanes from the old hunting ground of the Bristowe Rallies, when the event was one of the highlights of the Motoring News Championship, and nearly all those roads are included - a driving challenge awaits!
The navigation for the day leg is by tulip road book, as are all of the selectives. The night section will all be on marked maps – the going will be hard but fair, both to novice or experienced navigator alike. For any novice navigators out there – don’t worry - there will be the very experienced Bob Rutherford at the Start to answer any questions or concerns about the navigational elements of the event. If you wish to speak to him before, please send an email to will@wilkes-motorsport.com and some time will be organised to discuss any queries.
The organising team could not be more experienced, gathering many years of knowledge on Road and Stage Rallies, throughout the South West and Nationally. Please contact me for any other information/queries at martinclark@tiscali.co.uk or call me on 01454 413231 (before 22.00pm please).
Martin Clark, Clerk of the Course, Exmoor Endurance Rally.
04/09/09 - Bullnose entry for Exmoor CofC...

12/05/09 - Welcome to the new Exmoor Endurance Rally website...
The Exmoor Enduro Rally (EER) will be taking place on Saturday 10th October 2009 and is the final round of the Endurance Road Rally Championship. This website has been set up to provide all budding competitors/supporters/officials with the very latest news on what promises to be a hugely challenging and exciting event.
Exmoor Endurance Rally ’09:
We are pleased to announce this new event to the 2009 endurance rally calendar, and aim to replicate the status and quality events that they are renowned for.
The Rally Bristowe was first run in 1964. It continued into the mid-eighties and was for many years included in the legendary Motoring News Championship. It was revised in the nineties as a Historic event. The Exmoor Endurance Rally ’09 will be an event based upon the very successful Endurance rally 1400 formula. The team are striving to organise another legendary event. All the Bristowe's were tough and very competitive and the new Exmoor Enduro promises to be no different.
The Organising team is being lead by Martin Clark, Tavern Motor Club, who has been involved as Clerk of the Course or deputy on all the Bristowe's since1964.
The Exmoor Enduro event is being co-promoted with Minehead Motor Club, Burnham Motor Club and Chris House will be bringing all his knowledge of the area to the organising team.
The event will run on October 09/10 and be based around Minehead. There will be scrutineering on Friday evening and Saturday morning. The event will start at 11.00; it will include 80 miles of daylight selective in the smooth forestry commission Brendon Hill complex and the famous Porlock Hill. The route will be very compact with a lunch halt and all cars finished by 18.00.
The night road section will be approximately 90 miles and will use straight forward navigation - however, it will be very competitive.
The event will be all over by the early hours of Sunday Oct 11th. A few beers and an awards breakfast on Sunday will give everyone time to return home.
The entry is limited to 70 Enduro cars, will be under £300 and will be on a first come first serve basis.
To register for regulations or for more information please contact Martin Clark at martinclark@tiscali.co.uk
Keep an eye on this website in the following months for more news and updates....
